The release of Smaart v.7 has been set for Wednesday, April 14th, 2010 !
Users will be able to purchase new and upgrade licenses online and we will have a 30 Day Demo available for download and evaluation as well.
Users who cannot, or do not wish, to purchase online can call us starting Thursday, April 15th at +1-860-928-7828 and we can process your order manually.

Smaart v.7 Release Status Update - March, 16th, 2010
Hello everyone. Sorry for the lack of updates over the past few months.
We have today released the final round of Smaart v.7 Beta to our largest group of Beta Testers yet. We will be collecting and reviewing the results of this beta release over the next few days. We do not expect any serious issues to be discovered due to the methodical early beta testing we have done. But with software... you never know.
Assuming that all goes well with this final round of testing, we expect to have public Demo Versions fo Smaart v.7 for both Mac and PC available for download either late this week of early next week. We are doing things a little bit differently with the Smaart v.7 Demo than was done with Smaart v.6. The Demo will be a self-expiring 30-Day Demo that cannot be renewed and cannot be turned into a licensed version of v.7. You will need to download a completely different installer for the licensed version. Also, for security reasons the Demo will have some functionality disabled. This will not interfere with your ability to use or evaluate Smaart v.7 but it will be very important for you to read the "ReadMe" document that will be included with the Demo for more information about the disabled features.
Smaart v.7 Release Status Update - December 16th, 2009
Hi everyone. Here is a quick update on the Smaart v.7 development and release schedule. As you all may know, we originally targeted a December 15th , 2009 release date for v.7. Obviously, as it is now December 16th , we have missed that target.
The major culprit for this delay has been our (unanticipated) need to update/overhaul our sales and licensing systems to accommodate the v.7 release. Originally we believed we could make use of most of the existing v6 infrastructure with relatively simple updates and moderate modifications. However, upon receipt of the v.6 systems and digging into that code-base, it quickly became apparent that those systems required a significant rebuild to achieve what we wanted for v7 going forward.
Now, after a a few weeks of extra code-slogging, we are at the point of finalizing and testing the new licensing and security systems for v.7. We have added some cool new license functionality and have significantly enhanced the anti-piracy protections in the software. And, while the licensing system for v.6 that we inherited structurely needed a rebuild for our v7 needs, it does provide a good user interface which current Smaart users (hopefully by now) are accustomed to, and we have worked very hard to extend those systems so that you can manage your new v7 licenses from the very same my.rationalacoustics.com location.
Unfortunately, all this unplanned work on the licensing and sales systems has in turn delayed the production of final software betas and documentation. But now that the new licensing portion of the Smaart software in place, coding and documentation on the final betas / v7.0 release candidate has re-engaged and should be complete relatively soon.
We have made the business decision here at Rational that it is better to miss our targeted deadline by a few days or weeks rather than release software that we consider incomplete (or unprotected). We understand that the Snow Leopard / Smaartv.6 incompatibility issue is a problem for some users and increases even more the urgency to get v.7 to market and we are all working (literally) 7 days a week to get it done. So please bear with us a little longer !
